Workshop Details:

Criterion-referenced assessment (CRA) is an important component of HKUST's educational framework, aimed at enhancing student success and addressing individual learning needs. This workshop will explore the transformative potential of CRA by shifting the focus from relative performance to specific learning outcomes, allowing instructors to measure student achievement against predefined standards. By focusing on these specific outcomes, CRA not only clarifies expectations but also creates a more structured approach to teaching and learning, which supports student growth and development. Participants will learn practical strategies for integrating CRA into their courses while ensuring alignment with learning objectives. Additionally, the workshop will cover effective methods for providing constructive feedback, helping students identify areas for improvement and encouraging them to use assessment results to guide their learning strategies and enhance their overall performance.
