AEE Colloquium 2026
The AEE Colloquium 2026 was successfully held on 8 May 2026. Bringing together members of the AEE community, the event provided a shared platform for exchange, reflection and collaboration. The Colloquium featured a series of Teaching and Learning showcases alongside the World Café – Crossing the Gaps, Sharing the Keys, a facilitated dialogue session that invited participants to engage in small‑group discussions and collectively reflect on challenges and opportunities in teaching practice. These interactive components fostered thoughtful exchange on pedagogical innovation, educational accessibility and community‑engaged learning.
Through the active participation and insights of presenters and attendees, the AEE Colloquium created a constructive environment for teaching innovation, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing inclusive and effective teaching and learning across the University.

Dr. Sean McMinn (Director of CEI) delivered the opening remarks, introducing the theme and framing the discussions for the AEE Colloquium.

Dr. Meike Sauerwein (AEE Senior Fellow) introduced two interactive apps designed to bridge the gap between sustainability awareness and action.

Prof. Kenneth Leung (AEE Senior Fellow) shared a range of teaching innovations including flipped classrooms, blended learning, gamification and project-based approaches implemented across different computer science courses.
Prof. Ice Ko (AEE Senior Fellow) presented a faculty-centered pedagogical reflection on integrating internships and traineeships into Year-3 Life Science capstone projects at HKUST.
