Why transition to Blended Learning?

Simply because students are more active throughout class, can learn more and enjoy what they are learning.

Because when you ask your students ‘any questions’ and the whole class is eager to comment, we can tell they are interested. 

Because when students can watch your lectures on their own time, it frees up class time to explore real world cases on a deeper level and by the end of class, be able to confidently explain why their answers are correct. 

What does it take to go from ‘Passive Learning’ to ‘Active Learning’?

Just a bit of time, experimentation and pedagogical support from CEI instructional designers. It probably won’t happen overnight; it takes some time to adjust to but the benefits and enthusiasm from your students will be very well worth the effort!

About the Speaker:

Prof. Theodore H. K. CLARK is the Associate Professor of ISOM at HKUST. He has degrees in Engineering (BS), Law (JD), Business (Harvard MBA) and IS Management (Harvard DBA), and has taught multiple MBA and MSc ISM courses in the past at HKUST. Prof. CLARK also has extensive consulting experience with McKinsey & Company, involving sourcing, strategy, and operations.
