Living and Learning on the Campus of the Future: Combining Excellence, Resilience, and Well-being
Start Date

Southeast and East Asian countries have not only caught up with Western countries in academic performance but have even overtaken them in many areas. However, in many countries, this has led to a decline in the subjective well-being of the students, culminating in harmful experiences of stress, externalized behavior, depression, and even suicide. This raises the question of how to (1) maintain (and possibly even increase) the high level of performance, but at the same time (2) build resilience to cope with extreme psychological stress and (3) improve subjective well-being. The seminar will highlight some of the shortcomings of current approaches and outline a pragmatic way of achieving the objectives.
