About the Conference

The “Leveraging AI For Change in Education” conference is the first of an annual joint-university initiative between the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) aimed at exploring the profound impacts and possibilities of artificial intelligence in educational settings, from K-12 and higher education to vocational training and adult learning. As AI technologies continue to advance at an unprecedented rate, it’s crucial for educational approaches and research to keep pace. This means not only integrating AI into current pedagogical frameworks but also evolving our research methodologies to understand and leverage AI’s impact on learning outcomes, assessment tools, curriculum development, and students’ well-being. This conference aims to facilitate interdisciplinary discussions by uniting educators, researchers, policymakers, and technologists to explore key themes such as Personalized Learning, Assessment and Feedback, Learning/Predictive Analytics, Human-AI Collaboration, Ethical Issues, and AI Literacy.
