Blended Learning Workshops | SPRING 2022
Facilitating our students to achieve higher levels of learning
Technologies nowadays have transformed our lives in every aspect. The pandemic in the past two years drove us towards the adoption of flexible online teaching. This includes the use of online lectures, online assessments, and other digital means. But how can we use them more effectively? How can we maximize the benefits of both online and face-to-face to help our students achieve higher levels of learning?
These workshops will address the above questions using the principles of Blended Learning (BL) and plenty of design scenarios. As part of this approach, you will also learn to produce pre-recorded instructional videos for blended learning courses.
- BL design principles
- Design effective learning outcomes, assessments and activities for BL courses
- Example: The BL lesson plan of a Project Management course
- Case study on BL design
Please note that Session 1 is a prerequisite of Session 2.
- Design and develop pre-recorded instructional videos
- Deliver in-class activities in various modes (Online, Mixed Mode, Face-to-Face)
- Leverage useful EdTech tools for in-class activities
- Support and resources available from CEI
All faculty members are welcome to join the workshops!
The workshops will be delivered via Zoom with time for Q&A.
The workshops will be facilitated by CEI Instructional Designers Amy Chong, Chris Tse and Sue Hu. They have a wide range of experience in blended learning course design and development at HKUST. They are part of CEI’s Technology-enhanced Teaching team, which promotes the adoption of instructionally sound technologies in teaching and learning.
