Online Course on Inclusive Environments and Workplace – Earn Micro-Credentials and Advance Your Teaching Skills
Following the successful launch of the first two courses on Special Educational Needs (SEN), we are excited to announce the availability of the third and final course in the SEN series.
This SEN series is a collaborative effort between the Dean of Students Office at HKUST and Hong Kong Baptist University, aiming to equip you with essential knowledge and skills to foster a truly inclusive learning environment for all students.
SEN-001 | Integrated Education and Related Ordinances in Hong Kong
Acquire the knowledge and strategies necessary to foster inclusivity and create an inclusive learning environment under Hong Kong Education and Ordinances. Topics covered include equal opportunities, disability discrimination, integrated education, reasonable accommodation, individualized support, disclosure of disabilities, and disability etiquette.
SEN-002 | Understanding Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Academic Adjustments
Learn about the different types of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and practical strategies to support them. Topics include hearing impairments, physical disabilities, mental and neurodevelopmental disorders, chronic illnesses, visual impairments, and speech and language difficulties.
SEN-003 | Inclusive Environments and Workplace
Learn about the principles of Universal Design as they apply to environments and products. This course covers effective strategies for supporting individuals with diverse needs in the workplace, focusing on creating equal opportunities and accessible spaces. Topics include Universal Design for accessible built environments, design accessibility, and equal opportunities in the workplace.
Upon completing the course, you will earn a micro-credential in the form of an online badge from the Academy of Education Excellence (AEE) at HKUST.
