Coursera for HKUST


HKUST has been offering Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on Coursera since 2013. MOOCs allow you to explore new fields out of interest, develop new skills for work and connect with millions of learners from the comfort of your seat.

HKUST students and staff can have free access to two of their programs. You can get full access to courses in the program catalogs, interact with other students from all over the world and earn a free certificate upon course completion.

Coursera for HKUST

This is an exclusive MOOC portal for all HKUST members. The portal offers online courses and specialization series developed by our own faculty members.

HKUST students, staff and alumni

Coursera Partner Consortium

This portal offers thousands of popular online courses, specialization series and guided projects from Coursera’s leading partner universities, such as Yale and Duke, around the world. The course catelog is curated by Coursera.

Current HKUST students and staff

For students and staff who have NOT participated in any of the programs above, you can join the program directly using your ITSC credential. Here are the steps:

  1. Go to each of the program page and click on “Join”
  2. In the “Log In” box, click on Log in with HKUST at the top of the box
  3. On the HKUST credential page, enter your or email account and password (DO NOT use your email alias)
  4. After you have joined the program, you can start browsing the course catalog and enroll in courses that you are interested in
  5. If you want to earn free certificate(s), make sure you complete the requirements set out by the course instructors

Important Note:
Courses offered through these programs are non-credit bearing. They are for your own personal interest and development. No credit transfer will be arranged after course completion.
