— Your Partner in Course Design
Overview
The AI Co-designer is an instructional design platform that guides instructors through a systematic, step-by-step course design process. It supports the development of every component of a course — from intended learning outcomes (ILOs) to assessments, grading rubrics, and learning activities.
Watch a 2-minute overview of the tool:
The platform is designed to make high-quality course design accessible to all faculty. It helps ensure that each course is pedagogically sound and aligned with the stated learning outcomes, while reducing the time needed to plan and design course components.

Your Role in the Process
The AI Co-designer is designed to augment, not replace, your expertise. You remain the decision-maker at every stage of the process, reviewing, refining, and editing AI suggestions to suit your course context and learning goals.
You are invited to engage actively with the reflection prompts and alignment checks, using them to critically evaluate each element of your design. Through effective human-AI collaboration, you will ensure that your finished design reflects your academic judgment while benefiting from the structure and efficiency of the AI Co-designer.
Underlying Principles
The AI Co-designer draws on instructional design theories to ensure that course designs are grounded in sound pedagogical principles. In line with outcomes-based education, you will be guided to structure your course around clear, measurable learning outcomes. Bloom’s taxonomy provides a framework for formulating these ILOs at appropriate cognitive levels.
The course design sequence adopts the backward design approach, beginning with the intended learning outcomes before designing assessments and learning activities that directly support them. This ensures that every component of your course is constructively aligned – working together coherently to promote meaningful learning.
Special Features
Unlike general-purpose AI tools, the AI Co-designer includes a set of features designed specifically to support effective course design.

How it Works
