Blended Learning Online Course
Technology has changed the way we live, especially during the pandemic, where we have adopted flexible online teaching methods such as online lectures and assessments. But how can we make the most of these methods? How can we combine them with in-person teaching to maximize their benefits and improve students’ learning outcomes?
This online course comprises two modules: Course Design Plan and Learning Design Strategies. It will delve into these questions using the principles of Blended Learning (BL) and a range of design scenarios. Furthermore, you will learn how to create effective instructional videos using this approach. So don't miss out!
Starting this semester, this course is part of the Academy of Education Excellence (AEE) program and is available online in a self-paced format. Upon completion, you will receive online badges issued by the AEE at HKUST.
At the end of the module, you will be able to:
- explain the principle behind Blended Learning (BL) at HKUST
- use the Backward Design approach to derive a course design plan
- describe the development process of a BL course at HKUST
At the end of the module, you will be able to:
- identify effective strategies to produce instructional videos
- recognize effective strategies to foster self-directed online learning in students
- determine effective methods to monitor students’ progress in online learning
- develop effective strategies to facilitate collaborative in-class activities
Once enrolled, you will be able to access the course site and learning materials. It's that straightforward! If you have any questions about Blended Learning during your studies, don’t worry! Contact us at ceitet@ust.hk for assistance. Our team will be more than happy to assist you.
