Mentimeter Just Got Smarter: Track Participation with Names and SSO

Many of you value using Mentimeter to boost engagement in your classes, but may feel limited by its anonymous nature. Today, we’re excited to share two new features in Mentimeter designed to enrich your classroom interactions:

1. Participant Names

You now have the option to require students to enter their names before participating on Mentimeter. You can choose whether to display their names during the presentation or only in the results of activities. Use this option if you simply wish to identify individual students’ contributions as part of your activity design.

2. Verified Participants via SSO

You can also now require students to log in using Single Sign-On, ensuring that only HKUST members can interact with your Mentimeter presentations. Use this option to facilitate record-keeping and grading based on Mentimeter participation.

These new features provide you with greater visibility into engagement, improve participation tracking, and may open up new possibilities for personalizing feedback or providing support to your students.

If you are new to Mentimeter, we encourage you to join us now with your HKUST account or explore our guidelines to get started.
