Designing Experiential Learning with Design Thinking
ENGG 1300 – Design Thinking for Health Innovation” is a project‐based experiential learning course predicated on the Design Thinking process in the context of health innovation, all to address real‐world unmet societal needs.
While the course introduces students to the Design Thinking approach, it also behoves the teaching team to apply the same principles in designing and executing a learning experience where students’ learning needs are understood and looked after. An experience that motivates students to learn and expose themselves to the methods of Design Thinking.
In this discussion, we will share the key elements of the course, and give an overview of teaching approaches, team collaboration, and other factors that contributed to the success of this course.
