Video Management and In-video Activities Workshop | FALL 2024

Creating an interactive video-based learning environment

We are excited to share that our home-grown Video Management System (VMS) and In-video Activities (IVA) have been helping instructors create truly interactive video-based learning environments. These tools are designed to enhance the video learning experience and provide video analytics to track student progress and engagement.

Engaging lecture videos are excellent for capturing students' attention, boosting motivation, and improving performance. Recognizing the importance of recorded lecture videos for innovative teaching, we invite you to join our upcoming workshop to learn how to make your lecture videos more engaging for your students.

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

• gain hands-on experience on the Video Management System and the In-video Activities tool and recall the workflow for using these tools
• identify the benefits of using interactive videos as an instructional tool
• determine how to evaluate the effectiveness of video-based learning, including tracking students’ engagement and assessing learning outcomes

Our seasoned Instructional Designers, Isaac WAN and Ronald CHOW, from CEI’s Technology-enhanced Teaching team, will facilitate this workshop in a face-to-face setting.

Starting from Fall 2024, this workshop will be part of the Academy of Education Excellence (AEE) program. Upon completing the course requirements, you will receive an online badge issued by the AEE at HKUST.
