To help students achieve specific learning objectives, sometimes we may need to design and develop customized learning objects for interactive learning or assessment purposes. CEI will assist faculty and teaching staff in their approved projects to design, prototype and develop customized interactive learning objects. These learning objects can be deployed on Canvas as well as the MOOC platforms such as Coursera and edX.

Upon approval of your proposal, CEI will touch base to kick start your project. The central support team, consisting different skill sets, will provide assistance along the development workflow.

Various tools provide a platform to facilitate and support Active Learning strategies in class or online. Using technology to enhance the quality of teaching and learning has always been one of our key goals. We have established an institutional Learning Management platform and a number of innovative eLearning tools to enhance teaching and learning experience at HKUST. To ensure the eLearning platform and tools are implemented effectively, we provide regular eLearning workshops to help teaching staff become familiar with them, understand the pedagogical value behind them and be able to use them effectively in your teaching activities. We also constantly monitor the development of teaching technologies in the market and recommends other innovative tools which we see a pedagogical value in it.
