The Advanced Learning Fund (ALF) Briefing Session introduces faculty members to opportunities to advance their teaching through funded innovation. This session provides an overview of the Advanced Learning Fund, including its purpose, priorities, and criteria for developing a strong proposal. Participants will explore examples of impactful teaching projects and gain clarity on how to align their ideas with student learning outcomes and institutional goals.

This seminar will introduce participants to the Professional Standards Framework (PSF) which outlines 15 dimensions of teaching and learning to guide our practice. Through reflection on these dimensions, teachers can work towards a Fellowship of Advance HE which is the closest you can get to a teaching qualification in Higher Education. The award is globally recognised. The Fellowship application consists of a teaching portfolio, and the seminar will help participants identify, select and generate appropriate evidence of their own effectiveness as teachers.

The AEE Colloquium 2026 was successfully held on 8 May 2026. Bringing together members of the AEE community, the event provided a shared platform for exchange, reflection and collaboration. The Colloquium featured a series of Teaching and Learning showcases alongside the World Café – Crossing the Gaps, Sharing the Keys, a facilitated dialogue session that invited participants to engage in small‑group discussions and collectively reflect on challenges and opportunities in teaching practice.

Designed as a focused community conversation, the session provides space to share current projects, exchange challenges and insights, and brainstorm future possibilities. What exactly is an AI Agent, and why is it different from ChatGPT? This session provides a high-level introduction to the next wave of AI. We will demystify common buzzwords like LLMs and Agentic Workflows through live demonstrations of OpenClaw in action—showing how it can automate data processing and daily tasks. Most importantly, we will address the "dark side" of automation, highlighting critical security issues and recent hacks to ensure you stay informed and protected in an AI-driven world.
