Gamifying Learning Experience: The Why and How
THE SESSION
Gamification and Game-Based Learning has drawn much attention as a pedagogy to enhance students’ enthusiasm and engagement in learning. Along with it, there are common myths like gamification is a game, and gamification is the same as game-based learning. This interactive panel discussion session will debunk the myths and introduce the fundamental game design elements to consider.
James Bishop from Koru Consulting will moderate the session. James is a master at the Gamification of the virtual and live learning journey.Two guest speakers from Brown University, Prof. James Egan and Naomi Pariseault, will share their learning journey with gamification, and how they transformed an entire English Literature course within Brown. As with many universities worldwide, the transition came with many challenges internally, but the students have taken to the new approach, and now gamifying learning experience is gaining traction.
