Academy of Education Excellence (AEE) Fellowship Scheme

Review Process

Each application is reviewed independently by two AEE Senior Fellows against the required descriptors. Moderation takes place where reviewers’ judgments differ or further consideration is required. The two reviewers agree on the final outcome, which is communicated to the applicant in writing.

 

Eligibility

The scheme is open to full-time UST faculty members with teaching and learning responsibilities. Applicants should normally hold a University contract that extends through or beyond the three-year Fellowship period. Applicants whose contractual circumstances differ should contact the AEE team before applying.

Key Assessment Criteria

All applicants must address all six Dimensions of Teaching Excellence. The minimum number of descriptors required within each dimension varies by Fellowship level. Please refer to the Application Guide before selecting a level and preparing your responses.

How to Apply

Please read the AEE Fellowship Scheme Application Guide for full details about eligibility, Fellowship levels, descriptor requirements, supporting evidence, and the review process.

1. Select the Fellowship level that reflects your current practice.
2. Complete the online application form, including:
   • a teaching context response of no more than 300 words;
   • six accounts of teaching excellence, one for each dimension and no more than 500 words each; and
   • the descriptors demonstrated in each account.
3. Upload the supporting evidence referenced in your responses. Label each file with the relevant dimension code or codes.
4. Confirm the applicant declaration and submit the application by 4 December 2026.
