MS Teams, a MS Office 365 integration, is a communication and productivity platform available for the HKUST community. It helps enhance productivity and engagement for teamwork in courses. MS Teams’ strength is its all-in-one portal that makes managing group work easier. Using your HKUST MS Office 365 account and just a few clicks, MS Teams can help you manage collaboration work, view all live and on-going discussions on them and monitor all groups’ progress.

What’s the difference between Zoom and MS Teams?

The HKUST-Minerva Scholars Program is established in May 2018 under the joint partnership of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Minerva Project (Minerva). This is a first-of-its-kind collaboration designed to enrich HKUST students’ learning experiences through innovative curriculum, pedagogy and technology while allowing Minerva students to engage in learning and research at HKUST.

A new tool called More Tools is now available in Canvas. Teachers and TAs can access it from the left menu of your Canvas course sites. It consists of two parts, Student Photos & Lists and Discussion Data. The previous Student Photos is now moved inside More Tools.

In Fall 2010, about 400 students were recruited to participate in a 3-year longitudinal study which investigates how student learning and outcomes are affected by assessment and other factors. During the study, participants were invited to complete various questionnaires and tests. Some of them were also randomly selected and invited to share their views in some focus group discussions.

In 2009, with the enthusiastic support of our alumni, the University completed a highly successful large-scale survey which collected very useful data from over 2000 graduates.  We are about to launch another large-scale alumni survey and we look forward to the enthusiastic support of our alumni. 

Objectives

This survey, as a continuation of the 2009 study, aims to probe into the following three important issues relating to our graduates' work experience:

Dear LMES Users,

We are pleased to inform you that there are more new and enhanced features in the LMES now. Here are some highlights:

Messages Tool: With this tool, instructors may communicate with students without going back to their email system. This tool works like an internal messaging system. It allows instructors to send messages to a student or a group of students within a course site. Notification on new messages for different courses will also be shown on user’s home page for a quicker access.

CELT annually invites faculty and teaching staff to propose teaching development projects for their innovative teaching ideas that enhance teaching and learning. With the introduction of the 4-year undergraduate curriculum in 2012, proposals that involve pioneering new or extensively revised courses will be particularly welcomed; including those that focus on inquiry-based learning and capstone experiences.

The applications for the academic year of 2011/2012 has started and will last till end of September 2011.
