Pre-recorded Video Workshop - Turning your slideshows into educational videos
Students are digital native nowadays. They can self-learn new concepts, solve mathematical equations, operate machines by watching educational videos. Have you ever thought of pre-recording educational videos for students to learn at their own time and pace?
How about making videos using PowerPoint? As a newbie to video production, you may have a lot of hurdles. Have no fear, creating videos using PowerPoint has never been easier.
In this workshop, you will turn slideshows into videos and perform basic post-editing work using PowerPoint, anytime, anywhere. Equally essential, we will share with you how to revise your slides following the basic information design principles to improve the effectiveness of your educational videos.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- recognize the rationale of creating educational videos
- recall the advantages of adopting the PowerPoint recording feature
- record your first video using PowerPoint
- compare and evaluate effective slideshow designs for educational videos
- realize the additional features that can be implemented in PowerPoint when creating videos – all by yourself!

They are part of CEI’s technology-enhanced teaching team which promotes the adoption of instructionally sound technologies in teaching and learning.
