Collaboration tools in Canvas

Allows instructors and/or TAs to view and respond to students’ questions, offer a space for whole class discussions or collaborative group projects. Instead of taking many individual email enquiries, this space can be an easier way to manage Q&A and respond in one place so the whole class is kept up to date and on the same page.

Canvas Discussions

A space for students to ask questions, elaborate on topics, or engage in discussion with the whole class. If you have groups in the class, you can create a space for them to discuss. The instructor and/or TA can easily monitor and respond to all discussions.

Canvas Collaborations

Access Office365 via Canvas to work on the same Word document, Excel spreadsheet or PowerPoint. The instructor can start a document, manage files and monitor student progress from one place. Or students can start a document themselves and invite the instructor to join to monitor student progress.
